Fun Ways to Relieve Stress

There are fun ways to relieve stress that you may not have considered. Coping with anxiety and stress does not have to be boring or in a classroom setting.

Many healthy ways to deal with stress are natural and fun!

Many people think that they must go to classes or a therapy group to learn to deal with stress.

However, coping with stress is not necessarily difficult or impossible to do. And you can learn to have fun and relieve stress quickly and easily!

Exercise and biking are fun ways to relieve stress.

Knowing how to have fun
will help you stay happy and healthy!


How to Deal with Stress
and Have Fun Doing So...

Often negative stress is due to several factors. The first step to a stress-free lifestyle is to deal with the problem.
  • Over-scheduling or over-committing - Learn to say no, and only commit to what you can easily do.
  • Time management - Use a schedule book, and plan out your day. Discipline yourself to keep to your schedule. Include time for important people and relaxing activities. Don’t over-schedule.
  • De-clutter your life - Get rid of everything that you don’t need. You will be surprised at how cathartic this is--and how much better you’ll feel.
  • Organize - This will save tons of time, as you won’t spend hours looking for things!

Then, the fun part...

Fun Ways to Deal with Stress

Now for the fun part! There are endless ways to have fun and to recharge--while you are relaxing! Many of these fun ways to relieve stress are inexpensive or free!

Recreational Activities

  • Hiking - in beautiful natural surroundings. Exercise and beauty are relaxing.

  • Biking

  • Swimming and walking on the beach - Water is always soothing to the soul. You also get sunshine (very healthy) and exercise.

  • Permaculture gardening - very therapeutic


Hobbies

  • Birds Watching - Nature and serene settings are soothing.

  • Woodworking - very cathartic. If you have anger, anxiety or stress built-up, try sanding a wooden project. You will be amazed at how quickly you will calm down!

  • Scrapbooking - This has a number of therapeutic effects. Scrapbooking is like a journal, in that you can use it for life review activities and to sort out thoughts and feelings. A good choice for many!
  • Candle making - This is an example of a hobby that can get very creative. Experiment with colors, shapes, additions to the wax (figures) and scents. Making candles can be lots of fun, and creative activity is therapeutic!



Laughter

Laughter and comedy are very healing--and believe it or not, great stress management tools. They help us to release pent-up energy and emotions.

When you laugh uncontrollably, you feel GREAT afterward! Make an effort to see the funny side of things--and laugh everyday!

  • Find humor in one situation - every day!

As you can see, there are many fun ways to relieve stress.

Learning to cope with stress does not have to be drudgery. Start having fun, and the stress will naturally melt away!
