Stress management in the workplace is more complicated than managing stress at home. Work related stress is complicated by a number of factors. Peers at work compete for positions, raises and prestige--even if a team concept is encouraged. Competition can take the form of gossip, back-biting, aggressive or unkind remarks and manipulation, at times. In addition, employees are expected to show respect for supervisors and to complete assignments given to them, on time.
At work, there are little power plays constantly in motion, and the lower ranking employees have fewer options and freedoms than upper management and supervisors. However, despite all this, if you know the basics of managing workplace stress, you can decrease stress at work significantly...
