Mindfulness Meditation

BE In the Present Moment

The Present Moment is a Mindfulness Meditation.

It is a basic meditation that is easy to use every day.

"Present-moment living, getting in touch with your "now," is at the heart of effective living. When you think about it, there really is no other moment you can live. Now is all there is, and the future is just another present moment to live when it arrives. One thing is certain, you cannot live it until it does appear." Wayne Dyer

When the Present Moment is fully experienced and appreciated you feel relaxed. Your stress melts away and you will experience the benefits of meditation.

Its a Mindful Meditation because your consciousness is mindful of the Present Moment you have. During this time there are no need for worries or thoughts about the future or the past. You can relax. You are being Mindful.

Children experience living in the Present Moment every day. They already know this basic meditation! As we grow into adults we gain responsibilties that preoccupy our minds.

The only moment you truly have is NOW. The moment you are living is the only moment that exists in your reality and the only moment in which you can act to create your desires.

“The moment you are living now is a gift.. .that’s why they call it the “present”.

Be in the Moment.

Which should come easily since…

You are Human-BEing NOT a Human-DO-ing!

When you have thoughts that regret the past or wish, “I should have”…“I wish…" "Some day…” you are not experiencing the Present Moment. How does your body feel when you are in the past or the future? Its certainly not relaxed, that's for sure!

Remember! Stress Affects your Body and Health! Dwelling on past or future is giving you Stress! This Mindful Meditation is relieving your stress!

When you first try BEing in the Present Moment you might get feelings of boredom, discomfort and as though you NEED to do something. That's normal. Set aside some time before hand so you feel more relaxed and can settle in the technique to get the full benefits!

Take the first step.

NOW is the only time that you can!

The present moment is the only time you live in. Tomorrow never comes.

When the Present Moment is fully experienced and appreciated you feel relaxed. It is being Mindful of what you are doing.

How do you practise living in the Present Moment and doing a Mindfulness Meditation?

Although it is a basic meditation it takes practice to be consciously aware of what you are doing.

When I go for my walks I consciously allow my thoughts to wander through life’s issues for ½ of my walk and then I ask my thoughts to stop and concentrate on my surroundings… the rainbow lorikeets squawking in the trees, the shape of the clouds… the smell of the flower, the people passing by, etc. My perception... how I view the world... becomes “lighter” and I feel at peace. Practice being in the moment every day.

Start with just a few minutes of admiring the beauty of your surroundings. Your children playing – what game are they playing? What about while you are washing the dishes? – How the bubbles appear with a rainbow sheen - How they feel on your fingers.

The Basic Meditation Technique for BEing in the Present Moment:

The first few time you try this set aside some time where you will not be disturbed.

Make yourself comfortable in whatever environment you choose. Notice your surroundings. What is around you? Take notice of the furniture. The pictures on the wall. The lighting. The floor. Or if you are outside - what do you see? - what can you feel?

Be aware of what you are sitting on and how it feels - the texture of it - is it firm or soft? - is it comfortable?

Are you warm or cold? What's the temperature?

Be aware of sounds around you - the traffic or birds outside - the sound of your breath - people next door or in the next room - or the music you might have put on.

Now be aware of your physical body. The position you are sitting in. Is your jaw tight? Notice how your hands are positioned? Is there any tension in your neck? Observe every part of your physical body. Take your time.

Now bring your attention to your thoughts. Allow them to wander as they will. Let them come in and go out as if you were watching a movie of them. Do not hold on to any one of them. Just let them flow.... being aware of them.

Be aware of everything without judgement.. just BE.

You will feel peaceful and serene. If you do this practise of being in the moment morning and night - just allowing yourself to be - you will be more at ease in your every day life, peace will come easier and your thoughts will become clearer.

Every task or activity you do during the day can become a powerful meditation! Stay Focused!

Simply, be aware in the moment.

Fully concentrate on the moment

It’s a gift to enjoy,

The Present Moment. A Basic Meditation. A Mindfulness Meditation. That brings peace of mind. And restores health to your body.
