Hypnosis Therapy

Hypnotic Therapy Used as
Person Centered Therapy

What is hypnosis therapy? When is hypnotic therapy with a qualified hypnosis therapist a better choice than self-hypnosis?

These are questions that must be answered before you make a decision.

In many cases, self-hypnosis will be all that’s needed.

But, in some instances, a person with significant problems can benefit from the help of a qualified therapist.

How do you know if you can benefit from hypnotic therapy?

Many people have only seen stage hypnosis on TV or in the movies. While dramatic, stage hypnosis is not a good example of therapeutic hypnosis.

In the following video, a woman who was hypnotized by her therapist, explains what it was like to be hypnotized. As you watch, remember that she was initially afraid to be hypnotized.

Advantages and Disadvantages
of Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy with a therapist has some advantages. Here are a few that you should consider:
  • A therapist can help you sort out the important issues to work on. Sometimes we get so overwhelmed, that we don’t know where to start. A therapist can help you decide what issues are most important.
  • Person centered therapy - Your hypnosis session is specifically designed for you.

  • A therapist can help you by giving you feedback on how you are doing.

  • If you have never undergone hypnosis before, a therapist that you trust, can help you relax and feel comfortable during your first hypnosis therapy session.

There are, of course, disadvantages to using a therapist, as well.

Here are some reasons that you might choose to use self-hypnosis instead of hypnotherapy with a therapist:

  • Cost - A single session with a therapist will cost many times the price of a hypnosis download. The therapist may give you a recording of the session, but it still costs many times more than a hypnosis mp3.
  • Convenience - You will not complete your hypnotic therapy in one session. You will have to return for more treatments, and that requires scheduling appointments and taking time each week or so to attend. If you choose to use self-hypnosis, you can listen to your hypnosis recording anytime, day or night.

  • If you already know what your biggest issue is, you don’t need assistance in deciding what issue to work on. For example, if you have difficulty with a short temper, that’s probably your most pressing issue. And you already know that.

Remember that, when you undergo hypnosis, whether with a therapist or during self-hypnosis , you are in complete control and you hear everything that is said. You can decide to quit at any time, and your mind remains alert--but your body assumes a VERY relaxed state.

Hypnosis is actually very pleasant and you will feel refreshed after a session.

Hypnosis therapy is a legitimate way to help you change your thoughts and thought patterns for the positive.
