How does Reiki help anxiety?

It brings your body to a state of relaxation and calms the mind. When your body is in a relaxed state it has the ability to heal itself. The founder of Reiki, Sensei Mikao Usui, suggested to start a Reiki healing with the head... to calm the mind... relaxing thoughts = relaxed body.

Usui believed that it was important to treat the head first. This is especially true when using Reiki to treat anxiety and stress symptoms. When we treat the head we start to relax our thoughts and body.... this allows our body to heal its physical symptoms.

Its original system was based around the concept of Chi energy or Prana and allowing that Universal energy to flow through our bodies naturally.
