Different Personality Traits
and How They Affect You

People have different personality traits that cause them to react to situations somewhat predictably.

Although personality types give you a general disposition, you do have control over your decisions and actions!

Your actions and emotions are determined by your thoughts and past experiences.

Learn how to relax at will, using hypnosis!

In order to change your actions and emotions, all you have to do is change your automatic thought patterns--and substitute positive thoughts for negative thoughts!

A person with a type A personality is more likely to need anger management techniques.

Personality Types

You can determine what personality type you have by monitoring your reactions to situations. How do you normally handle difficult situations?

Are you easily angered? Do you suppress your feelings, rather than talk about them?

One theory suggests two main types of personalities when considering coronary heart disease: Type A and Type B.

Type A Personality

A Type A personality person is very impatient and rushed.

They often do multi-tasking, are very competitive, talk at a fast speed, and sometimes raise their voice in normal conversations as they try to control or intimidate others.

They tend to have an attitude of trying to dominate others. Also, surprisingly, people with a Type A personality often have low self-esteem.

Type A personality people often find themselves "stressed out".

Type B Personality

Type B personalities are the opposite of a Type A.

If you were a Type B personality you would be described as patient, laid-back, relaxed, easy-going, and you wouldn't be rushed in your tasks, or when speaking.

Type B personalities can drive Type A personalities crazy!

Coronary Heart Disease Personality

Experts have identified that an aggressive, hostile and angry personality is been linked to coronary heart disease.

If you have these qualities, you might consider whether there is a history of heart disease or cardiac problems in your family, and then re-assess your personality type and the way you handle situations.

Cancer Personality

A person who is prone to cancer often finds it difficult to deal with stressful situations and gives up easily.

They also have feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, and repress emotions instead of dealing with them.

A cancer personality is also likely to be unassertive, over-patient, and go to extremes to avoid conflict, as they are unable to express their emotions.

How a Healthy Attitude can Help

While different personality traits can help to predict who is more likely to get illnesses, the situation is certainly not hopeless.

There are a number of ways that you can beat the odds and stay happy and healthy. Here are a few:

  • Social support system - A person who is dedicated to family and work, who feels a sense of belonging in the world, and who is loved by others has a stronger immune system.

  • Self control - A person who knows they are in control of situations in their life. Who feels empowered to change events, their own reaction and even their relationship with others to create the outcome they desire.

  • Challenges - Someone who faces challenges willingly, and sees every opportunity as a stepping stone to gain knowledge, and grow within themselves.

While each of us is born with different personality traits, that doesn’t mean that we are doomed to a certain lifestyle.

When you know what your personality traits are, you can work to overcome any deficiencies. For example, if you are a Type A personality, you may need to work on relaxation techniques or anger management.

In the end, you are the one in charge of your life. You decide what you need to do to be happier. And you decide what you need to do to be more successful...
